| It’s sad - but nevertheless undeniable - to note that the quality of M. Night Shyamalan’s productions is not improving. From “The Sixth Sense” to “Unbreakable”, could one talk about relaxation. Later “Signs” and “The Village” represented the next levels of this “relaxation”, allowing disappointed spectators to utter the words “mediocrity” or “absurdity". Well, mediocrity and absurdity are great adjectives for the new-born movie of the Indian director. This “Lady in the water” and the farcical universe that comes with her and that is slowly revealed to us causes, for the ones who are still awake, pity more than any other feeling. This film, which is neither really funny nor sad nor frightening, is however not unclassifiable. The failure category suites it perfectly. To avoid! |
