At the End of the World, the Adventure Begins
Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann allie with Captain Barbossa in a desperate quest to free Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) from his mind-bending trap in Davy Jones' locker - while the terrifying ghost ship, The Flying Dutchman and Davy Jones, under the control of the East India Trading Company, wreaks havoc across the Seven Seas. Navigating through treachery, betrayal and wild waters, they must forge their way to exotic Singapore and confront the cunning Chinese Pirate Sao Feng (Chow Yun-Fat). Now headed beyond the very ends of the earth, each must ultimately choose a side in a final, titanic battle - as not only their lives and fortunes, but the entire future of the freedom-loving Pirate way, hangs in the balance. |

A bit messy but it looks great |
This third (and last) episode doesn’t prevent itself from anything to make some original stuff: crazy scenes, twisted plot and completely unpredictable turn of event, I don’t teach you anything, you really have to be in the mood for simple amusement - without looking to much further - to enjoy this one. So only on this point, I think we can say that those who didn’t like the second episode won’t be pleased with this one either.
In order to entertain us, the movie succeeds perfectly. So at least on this matter, the movie is a great success! The not so successful part is the narration, or the way the actions follow each other. Everything is rather messy, apparently in order to complicate a basically simple plot. Too bad, we would have preferred something more solid, like the first one did so well…
Peace of advice: watch the credits till the end, for once it’s worth it ! |
